How to make Yoghurt, Labne, Quark and Mascarpone with The Cheesemaking Workshop, Coffs Harbour

In our cheesemaking workshop we will show you how easy it is to make your own Yoghurt, turn that into your own fresh Labne. Make Quark which is a cream cheese and Mascarpone.

Yoghurt – a family staple one is one of the oldest dairy products. It’s packed full of probiotics, which is essential for a healthy digestive systems, plus great for immunity and overall health. Due to its low water content the texture is similar to cream and much healthier to cook with.

Labne – a Middle Eastern yoghurt cheese made from our homemade yoghurt. With the bright, tangy flavour or the yoghurt, it’s an excellent as a spread or dip. Alternatively, to roll into balls and store in oil to keep it for longer.

Quark –  a European cream cheese with a smooth, soft, velvety texture that makes it an excellent choice for cheesecakes, dips and specialty cheeses. We use it in replace of Philadelphia Cream Cheese (sorry Philly – but we like our homemade version better!)

Mascarpone – originated in Italy. Essentially a cultured cream, its mild and creamy with a lovely amount of indulgence and subtle tang. Similar to creme fraiche or sour cream. Most commonly know for its use in the Italian dessert tiramisu. Mascarpone make the most delicious creamy pasta sauce and a good dollop on a jacket potato is just a nice

Designed to whet your appetite for the craft of home cheesemaking. This workshop breaks down the process and techniques into something so simple, you will wonder why you never tried to make your own cheese before.

Plus, we’re all about practical applications here at the Cheesemaking Workshop. So not only will we show you how to make the cheese, but also share with you plenty of ideas for how you can use your homemade cheeses in your home dishes. All you need to get started once you’ve completed the workshop is one of our easy to use cheesemaking kits.

The Cheesemaking workshop is not only an educational cheese making facility it is also a one stop cheese making supply store an online store and a big cheese deli. Whether you would like to learn to make you own cheese or would just like to purchase a ready made cheese. The Cheesemaking workshop has something for all cheese lovers.

Please note: This 1 hour Yoghurt and Fresh Cheeses Workshop is mostly run by demonstration with lots of tastings in between.

  • No shows and same day cancellations are non-refundable
  • $25 date change fee applies to all changes with 7days of workshop start date
  • 1 free date change outside of the 7days prior to workshop date, any further changes will incur a $25 fee
  • This workshop requires a minimum of two people to run
