Fig and Chevre Puffs

Preparation time 10 minutes Serves 4

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 250g chevre – homemade or store bought
  • 6 fresh figs
  • 125g rocket
  • olive oil to drizzle
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • freshly ground black pepper

Fig and Chevre Puffs

The sweetness of the fig is perfectly balanced against the tang of the chèvre.

You can use either homemade chèvre or store bought. Look for something with no flavouring added if you’re purchasing store bought. Ideally something soft and spreadable, if it’s a little firmer take it out of the fridge at least a half an hour before using to allow it to soften.

Cut pastry into 12 equal rectangles.

Place on baking tray and bake until puffed and golden.

Spread the chèvre evenly over the pastry. Drizzle with the olive oil and lemon juice. Top with torn figs and rocket.

Season to taste with freshly ground black pepper (we sometimes add a drizzle of caramelise balsamic for something a little different from time to time).

Your Fig and Chevre Puffs are ready to eat! We love serving these as canapés with a glass of sparkling or rose.
